Frederic Twp Fire personnel are out installing new address signs to help Emergency services locate you faster and easier in your time of need. If you need an address sign at your house or the end of your driveway and live in Frederic or Maple Forest Township's please call our station. We will happily install an address sign for you free of charge. Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors are also available. Call the station at 989-348-8190 for more information.
A picture is worth a thousand words. We always emphasize the importance of closing your bedroom doors when you go to sleep. Even these cheap six panel hollow core doors will buy you time in a fire. Look at how no smoke or heat made it into the bedroom. Now look in the hallway! Also look where the most damage is… Up high. This is why we preach to get down low if you have smoke or fire in your home. Practice that home escape plan and Close Before You Doze!
Frederic Fire Department (FTFD) Infant SAFE SLEEP Program proudly gives residents of Crawford County Pack-n-play's along with safe sleep educational material on safe sleeping habits. Along with the Pack-n-play we also now give residents a new baby bib with the Frederic Fire Department logo. FTFD has given 66 Pack-n-play's to date. FTFD has partnered with Michigan Department of Health and Human Services  to provide the residents of Crawford County with this service. If you or anyone you know in Crawford County is expecting a baby or has a new baby and is in need of a safe place for their baby to sleep please call the station and set up a home visit. If you have any questions, we would be happy to assist you.
On July 22, 2022 FTFD received our very first Auto Pulse by Zoll. This is a great accomplishment for both our department and the community.
 We first want to say thank you to our citizens, township board and our supervisor for supporting such an investment.
These devices deliver CPR compressions at a consistent rate and depth. FTFD also received top of the line Z Series Zoll Cardiac Monitor's that allow for monitoring vitals along with cardiac functions.
The future of the department and continued service looks great.
Today is a great day for the department and the community. We first wanna say thank you to our citizens, township board and our supervisor for supporting such an investment.
We just took delivery of and are putting into service three of the Autopulse by Zoll and four more new Zoll X series monitors. 
These devices deliver CPR compressions at a consistent rate and depth. And the monitors are top of the line units that allow for monitoring vitals along with cardiac functions. 
The future of the department and continued service looks great.

Frederic Township Fire Department has partnered with Citizen Corps to form, administer, and oversee Crawford County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).  These are highly trained volunteers that support emergency services throughout Crawford County and surrounding communities.  In the event of a large scale disaster, or any planned community event where an extra hand is needed to direct traffic, citizens, or offer first aid services.
