Frederic Fire Department provides dedicated Fire Suppression and Rescue to Frederic and Maple Forest Townships (108 square miles). We also provide ORV Rescue, Snowmobile Rescue and Water rescue to our dedicated coverage area and surrounding agencies.
FTFD provides 4 Townships in Crawford County with Emergency Medical Services; Frederic, Maple Forest, Lovells and South Branch. We provides services to Camp Grayling Cantonment for Fire and EMS, and 3 Townships in Kalkaska County; Bear Lake, Coldsprings, and Excelsior for Emergency Medical Services. Our EMS units transport to Munson Hospital Grayling, Munson Hospital Gaylord, Munson Medical Center Traverse City, and Kalkaska Memorial Hospital.
FTFD is lead into action by a supportive and knowledgeable Command Staff that emphasizes the importance of safety, education, training, and community outreach. Our Dept. depends greatly on our hands-on Township Board to help advance each division of Frederic Fire.
