Frederic Township Fire Department
D.O.S.E.
Recently members of Frederic Township Fire Department and Crawford County Sheriff Department participated in D.O.S.E. training. D.O.S.E. is a Direct On Scene Education program designed to help first responders identify and educate families with new infants on safe sleeping habits for their child in the hopes to help lower the number of sleep related deaths of children. Along with the education, we are able to help families that may not have a safe place for there new child to sleep by providing Pack and Plays with help from grants and the Michigan Department of Heath & Human Services EMS Division. If you have any questions, need help for your family or know a family in need please contact us for more information. You can also find more information at www.michigan.gov/safesleep

                            NEW ARRIVAL

In January, 2013, we welcomed our latest addition in the form of a 2011 Ford F450 4 wheel drive Ambulance (174).  This Ambulance will allow us capabilities to get to residents that live on our many seasonal roads and provide ALS care to some that may have otherwise been unreachable by standard ambulances.

174 is licensed as an Advance Life Support Ambulance.  With FTFD Ambulance services now staffed full time, we needed an ambulance that would ensure we “get there,” this truck will do just that no matter if it is in-climate weather, sand, mud, or just plain bad roads.
